PROJECT BRIEF

'Hellas' is a self-woven assortment of exploratory samples  measuring 08x08" constructed on a 16 shaft table-top loom setup. Other than Plain and Twill Weave, the loom has also been used to implement weaving techniques of Spanish Lace, Loom Knotting, Soumak, Interlocking and Cut-Pile.

The collection is titled 'Hellas' (the name for ancient Greece), and has been named so since structures and art-forms serve as the inspiration of colours, forms such as Meander or Greek Key, Stepped Diamond, Hellenistic and Ionic columns, along with simplistic weaving techniques.
